What is a Refractometer? It is a basic device used to measure aqueous solution concentrations. The device is used in various industries such as food, agricultural, chemical, and manufacturing. All it needs is a few droplets of liquid. How a Refractometer Works? When light enters a liquid, its direction changes; this is known as refraction. These devices measure the angle of refraction, that is defined as the degree to which light changes its direction. A refractometer measures the refraction angles and connects them to predetermined refractive index (nD) values. You can calculate the concentrations of solutions using these numbers.
